Welcome to my website! I am a professor of molecular genetics and microbiology at the University of Florida College of Medicine. After being on the faculty for about 36 years, I have closed my research lab and have focused my effort on education of medical students, on-campus graduate students, and distance ed graduate students. I am the associate chair of education for my department. I am the chair of the UF Institutional Biosafety Committee until mid-March 2025, when I will step down to be vice chair. I am the medical discipline coordinator for the State Course Numbering System, which means that I assign course numbers to all of the new medical and graduate courses in the broad realm of medicine. Use the links in the top navigation to get to know me and my work a bit more. I am retiring at the end of the spring semester of 2025, and I am incrementally handing off my courses to my successor starting in the summer of 2025.
